Hubby got a job offer in Singapore, Alhamdulillah. And yes, because of this offer, we are all going home for good. Yipee...

As hubby has to serve his 3 mth notice period, my kids, maid and I will be leaving earlier, sometimes mid July. Actually I would like to be home early July but my tenant who is renting my place need time to find a place and arrange their moves. They had actually requested that we give them time until end of the year. We can't as we do not have any place to stay and especially not with our belongings that we will be taking with us from here.
The boys will have to attend school in July and I have to settle all this soonest possible so that I can seek medical treatment for my illness. I have been procrastinating too long and it's really affecting me now.
And yes, we will miss Penang. We will miss the beautiful sceneries, food and friends we've made here. I will miss my doctor, her nurses, my makcik mengaji and my part-time maid (i had her before I brought my maid to Penang). These are the people that have helped and advised me a lot. And of course, the boys will definitely miss their friends and teachers.
Amirul is more prepared to go back to Singapore but not Azirul. He is used to the school environment here. I had spoken to his teachers and they are helping me out. They will talk to him about the fun of moving, having new friends and meeting cousins.
Whatever it is, I am so happy with their teachers here. They are very patient, very compassionate, very loving and very understanding. Their teachers are very close to the students, are very generous with praises and are never critical of Azirul slow development. They worked with us to ensure that Azirul is able to catch up with his peers. They even conducted special classes for him and Azirul is improving tremendously. I told my sons that back home, don't expect the teachers there to be like your teachers here. You won't hear teachers calling you... honey, sweetie, sweetheart, dearest, dear or darling.
I am not trying to scare them but I just want them to be more prepared to face the different environment. Sometimes, children or even adults, have this mindset that everywhere he or she would get the same (bad or good) treatment.
I also reasoned out with them as to why the teachers in Singapore (info from my SIL who is a teacher) are not very generous with praises. They have 30-35 students (sometimes 40) in a class compared to the International school teachers who have only 20-25 students. Sometimes, I wonder... how nice would it be for a student to go to school feeling happy, knowing that there are other souls in school who love and care for them... and they show it.
That's how my sons are. Even when they are sick, they still want to go to school. They are always looking forward to go to school. I hope they continue to enjoy going to school when we move back to Singapore....
