My Advance Birthday Gifts
Mysha's Cukur Rambut and Mummies Day Out....with babies
- Brought Aaron and Ashraf, with my maid to meet Shaikha and handsome Zed at Farah's.
- We were welcomed by adorable and pretty princess Mysha and her sweet mummy.
- It was our first meeting with Farah and we felt to close like long-time friends, she is such a great host. THanks Farah!
We left at 3.15pm and headed to Changi AIrport to meet our KMC mummies. But last minute, some of them could not make it. Only this very rajin mummy came with 3 kids in tow... Mel!!! I dont think I can handle my boys when taking them out without my maid or hubby.
Anyway, it was great meeting Shaikha and Mel.... plus kids after about 1.5yrs of not meeting them.
Looking forward for more dates with KMC mommies...hopefully to meet all of them again soon.

Cherish your Loved Ones
An email received from a dear friend.
READ THIS!!!! and then reread it. Especially the last part...
I walked into the grocery store not particularly interested in buying groceries. I wasn't hungry. The pain of losing my husband of 57 years was still too raw. And this grocery store held so many sweet memories.
He often came with me and almost every time he'd pretend to go off and look for something special. I knew what he was up to. I'd always spot him walking down the aisle with the three yellow roses in his hands.
He knew I loved yellow roses. With a heart filled with grief, I only wanted to buy my few items and leave, but even grocery shopping was different since he had passed on.
Shopping for one took time, a little more thought than it had for two.
Standing by the meat, I searched for the perfect small steak and remembered how he had loved his steak.
Suddenly a woman came beside me. She was blonde, slim and lovely in a soft
green pantsuit. I watched as she picked up a large package of T-bones, dropped them in her basket.. hesitated, and then put them back. She turned to go and once again reached for the pack of steaks.
She saw me watching her and she smiled. 'My husband loves T-bones, but honestly, at these prices, I don't know.'
I swallowed the emotion down my throat and met her pale blue eyes.
'My husband passed away eight days ago,' I told her. Glancing at the package in her hands, I fought to control the tremble in my voice. 'Buy him the steaks. And cherish every moment you have together.'
She shook her head and I saw the emotion in her eyes as she placed the package in her basket and wheeled away.
I turned and pushed my cart across the length of the store to the dairy products. There I stood, trying to decide which size milk I should buy. A Quart, I finally decided and moved on to the ice cream. If nothing else, I could always fix myself an ice
cream cone.
I placed the ice cream in my cart and looked down the aisle toward the front. I saw first the green suit, then recognized the pretty lady coming towards me. In her arms she carried a package. On her face was the brightest smile! I had ever seen. I would swear a soft halo encircled her blonde hair as she kept walking toward me, her eyes holding mine.
As she came closer, I saw what she held and tears began misting in my eyes. 'These are for you,' she said and placed three beautiful long stemmed yellow roses in my arms. 'When you go through the line, they will know these are paid for.' She leaned over and placed a gentle kiss on my cheek, then smiled again. I wanted to tell her what she'd done, what the roses meant, but still unable to speak, I watched as she walked away as tears clouded my vision.
I looked down at the beautiful roses nestled in the green tissue wrapping and found it almost unreal. How did she know? Suddenly the answer seem
ed so clear. I wasn't alone.
Oh, you haven't forgotten me, have you? I whispered, with tears in my eyes. He was still with me, and she was his angel.
Every day be thankful for what you have and who you are.
(Please read all of this, it is really nice)
Even though I clutch my blanket and growl when the alarm rings. Thank you, God that I can hear. There are many who are deaf.
Even though I keep my eyes closed against the morning light as long as possible. Thank you, God, that I can see. Many are blind.
Even though I huddle in my bed and put off rising. Thank you, God, that I have the strength to rise. There are many who are bedridden.
Even though the first hour of my day is hectic, when socks are lost, toast is burned, tempers are short, and my children are so loud.
Thank you, God, for
my family. There are many who are lonely.
Even though our breakfast table never looks like the picture in magazines and the menu is at times unbalanced.
Thank you, God, for the food we have. There are many who are hungry.
Even though the routine of my job often is monotonous. Thank you, God, for the opportunity to work. There are many who have no job.
Even though I grumble and bemoan my fate from day to day and wish my circumstances were not so modest.
Thank you, God, for life.
Pass this on to the friends you know. It might help a bit to make this world a better place to live, right? A friend is someone we turn to when our spirits need a lift. A friend is someone to treasure.
For friendship is a gift. A friend is someone who fills our lives with Beauty, Joy and Grace and makes the world we live in a better and happier place.
YOU ARE MY FRIEND!
God bless you and yours.

Jurong Bird Park

I was there for my Primary 3 excursion. This time with my family. We enjoyed ourselves despite the rain. But the next time we go there, MUST MUST remember to bring insect repellent. My poor Ashraf was the only one who was attacked by the hungry mosquitoes.
Enjoy the pics!

Get a good night sleep once and for all - Article
1. A medical condition
If you can't fall or stay asleep most nights of the week, chances are insomnia isn't your only issue. According to a report from the University of Oklahoma, 75 to 80 percent of people with chronic sleep problems suffer from another health condition. After all, it's hard to sleep if your joints are aching from arthritis, you're drenched from night sweats or you're always sneezing from allergies. Common culprits for women include undiagnosed sleep apnea, a condition in which you stop breathing for as long as 30 seconds at a time during the night, and restless leg syndrome, a neurological disorder that causes an urge to move your legs while you're asleep. Various medications can also cause sleep disturbances.
2. Noise and light
These sound like no-brainers, but what you may not realize is that even the slightest sound or glimmer of light can be enough to interfere with the most restorative stages of sleep (rapid eye movement, or REM) and your body's production of melatonin, a hormone that helps lull you into dreamland, says Joyce A. Walsleben, Ph.D., diplomate of the American Board of Sleep Medicine and associate professor at the NYU School of Medicine. "Even the glow of a digital clock or television noise from down the hall can get in the way," says Richard Gelula, CEO of the National Sleep Foundation in Washington, DC.
Ideally, complete darkness is best (try blackout curtains/shades or an eye mask). When it comes to noise, a fan on a constant speed or white-noise machine can help block out traffic and a snoring bedmate. But skip the nature sounds or a soothing talk show host: Your brain registers changes in tone, even if they're slight, and this can wake you.
3. Caffeine
You know that caffeine keeps you up, but you may be surprised at just how long it can affect you. Caffeine can take seven to eight hours to work its way out of your system, says Dr. Walsleben. "If you have trouble sleeping, cut it off by noon."
4. Alcohol and cigarettes
A nightcap may make you sleepy initially, but it delays the start of your first REM cycle, so you may end up having fewer of them during the night and won't feel well-rested, says Dr. Walsleben. Drinking also can cause night sweats and wake you up to go to the bathroom. So don't overdo it, and make last call at least three hours before bedtime.
As for smoking, you can add insomnia to the long list of health problems it causes, since nicotine is a stimulant.
5. Bad sleep habits
You need a buffer between the activities of the day and sleeptime—and watching TV until you doze off doesn't count. Start winding down at least an hour before bed. The key is to make pre-bedtime quiet—so ban newspapers, television or anything stressful. Give pillow-hogging pets the boot, too.
As for the bedroom itself, keep it a comfortable temperature (around 69 degrees is ideal), use comfy linens and pillows, and clear the clutter. "Use the bed just for sleeping and for sex," says Michael H. Silber, M.D., past president of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.
To help figure out what you may be doing wrong, keep a sleep diary to track what you're doing before you hit the sack, and how ready you feel for bed both physically and mentally. Download one at shuteye.com (click on "Sleep Solutions" and then "Discover Patterns").
6. Your genes
Another thing to blame on Mom (or Dad): A predisposition to being a night owl or early morning person can be inherited, explains Dr. Walsleben. Certain sleep disorders (like narcolepsy, which causes an overwhelming urge to fall asleep sporadically during the day) have a genetic component.
Your anatomy is also largely dictated by your genes, so if obesity, a receding jaw or a deviated septum (which makes breathing difficult) run in your family, you may be more prone to problems such as sleep apnea.
The stress connection
When you’re stressed, your body produces hormones like norepinephrine and adrenaline, which rev you up and make it harder to sleep, says Joyce Walsleben, Ph.D. Use these techniques to quiet your chattering mind.
1. Write it down
In the afternoon, take a few minutes to grab a piece of paper and draw a line down the middle. On one side, list the worries that keep you up at night. On the other, jot down possible solutions."If you worry about not being able to pay your bills, the solution may be as simple as deciding on a payment plan," says Dr. Walsleben.
2. Practice mindful meditation
Several times throughout the day, find a quiet place for 3 to 4 minutes, take some deep breaths and try to picture specific thoughts drifting through your mind one at a time. Watch while they drift out of view (imagine a news ticker in which words run across the screen and then disappear).
3. Try left-nostril breathing
Spend 5 to 10 minutes before you go to bed consciously inhaling through your left nostril and exhaling through the right one (you can use your finger to block one side of your nose and then the other). Yoga practitioners believe that the left side of the body is associated with nighttime, relaxation and quietness, says Havi Brooks, founder of The Fluent Self, a mind-body habit-changing program.

One! One more night
Just one more night without him. After tomorrow night, he will be back...
Such bad timing.... school holidays and hb is away in Germany for 2 weeks. I had to entertain the boys myself. And they realllllyyy keep me going! Going crazy too.
Frankly, I am lazy to exercise. Very!!! Since school days hokay! But these 4 heroes of mine are so hyper that there's no way I can be lazy. Whenever hb is around, he would take the 3 boys out for a run...just to make them tired. I would be at home; either sleeping, on my laptop, with my baby or watching tv. I do not join them. Yes! Lazy bum!
But for the past few days, I had to realllly do things with them.
1) Walked from Tampines alllll the way to Pasir Ris DTE. The boys swam at the pool while mummy relaxed after a long walk.
2) Played badminton (4 times last week)
3) Played catching (yessssssss....mummy main kejar-kejar.)
4) Played ball game - volleyball, football, basketball...
5) Played skate-scooter (tried a few times but too scared....hehhe) ended up having my maid playing with them...nasib skate scooter tak pecah...heheh
Not forgetting the little baby... makes me carry weight...well... carry him to be exact. So the very manja since daddy left that he simply refused to be rocked to sleep on his bouncer.
On Saturday afternoon I will be taking the kids to the airport to fetch hb home. After that he will take over and be the entertainer. I need a break!!!
However, before that....another activity for the boys tomorrow... this time.... a girl's thing... no! not dressing up.... it's baking time!!!! I wanna bake Nutella cupcakes, chocolate cupcakes, orange cupcakes and strawberry cupcakes!!!! wooooohoooooo.... so many cupcakes to eat!

A meaningful story to share
A boy was born to a couple after eleven years of marriage. They were a loving couple and the boy was the gem of their eyes. When the boy was around two years old, one morning the husband saw a medicine bottle open. He was late for office so he asked his wife to cap the bottle and keep it in the cupboard. His wife, preoccupied in the kitchen totally forgot the matter.
The boy saw the bottle and playfully went to the bottle fascinated by its color and drank it all. It happened to be a poisonous medicine meant for adults in small dosages. When the child collapsed, the mother hurried him to the hospital. He died.
The mother was stunned! She was terrified how she was going to face her husband. When the distraught father came to the hospital and saw the dead child, he looked at his wife and uttered just five words.
QUESTIONS:
1. What were the five words?
2. What is the implication of this story?
Scroll down to read....
ANSWER:
The husband just said "I am with you Darling".
The husband's totally unexpected reaction is a proactive behavior. The child is dead. He can never be brought back to life. There is no point in finding fault with the mother. Besides, if only he had taken time to keep the bottle away, this would not have happened. No one is to be blamed. She had also lost her only child. What she needed at that moment was consolation and sympathy from the husband. That is what he gave her.
If everyone can look at life with this kind of perspective, there would be much fewer problems in the world.
"A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step."
Take off all your envies, jealousies, unforgiveness, selfishness, and fears. And you will find things are actually not as difficult as you think.
MORAL OF THE STORY
This story is really worth reading. Sometimes we spend time in asking who is responsible or whom to blame, whether in a relationship, in a job or with the people we know. By this way we miss out some warmth in human relationship.
Rockwell - Cuts Like A Knife
with a softness in the night
my wish was your command
until you ran
out of love
I tell my self I'm free
got the change of living just for me
no need to carry on
now that you're gone
CHORUS
Knife
cuts like a knife
how will I ever heal
I'm so deeply wounded
knife
cuts like a knife
you cut away the heart of my life
When I pretend when I smile
to fool my dearest friends
I wonder if they know
it's just a show
I'm on a stage day or night
through my charades
but how can I disguise
what's in my eyes
(Repeat CHORUS)
Oh oh oh oh oh ...
I try and try locking up
the pain I feel inside
the pain of wanting you
wanting you
(Repeat CHORUS

The Beauty of Breathing
Stress is the epidemic of our age. Although we view it as a problem, it's actually essential to our survival; it's how we react to it that can cause trouble. When faced with a threat, our brains release the stress hormones adrenaline and cortisone, which activate the body to defend itself. Breathing quickens and muscles tense in what is known as the "fight or flight" response … our bodies are preparing to do battle, or run for our lives.
This is vital when confronted with a physical danger; but unlike our ancestors, we're less likely to run from our problems these days, more likely to sit there stewing … or reach for the cookie jar. Unchecked by physical activity, the outpouring of stress hormones can result in symptoms such as habitual over-breathing, dizziness and anxiety attacks.
Relaxation Response
Good news, though: The fight-or-flight response can be countered by what psychologists call the "relaxation response." Learning how to relax unlocks tight muscles and leaves you calm; breath control is the first step toward this blissful state.
In most cases, this means learning to breathe more slowly and evenly, because many of us hyperventilate (over breathe) when stressed or excited. Persistent rapid breathing interferes with the balance of oxygen and carbon dioxide in our bodies, causing feelings of breathlessness and panic. This only increases feelings of stress, creating a vicious circle.
The answer: Learn to breathe slowly. Try this six-part breathing routine. When relaxed, you should take about 10 breaths a minute.
- Time yourself: Start off by holding your breath for 10 seconds.
- Then breathe out, mentally repeating the word "relax" as you do so.
- Now inhale for three seconds, and exhale for three seconds.
- Repeat for one minute (or 10 complete breaths in and out).
- Now hold your breath for 10 seconds, again repeating "relax" (you may also like to visualize some tranquil scene, such as a peaceful beach or quiet forest).
- Keep repeating this cycle until stress symptoms disappear; practice regularly every day until slow breathing becomes automatic.
Chronic pain sufferers are encouraged to learn to control their breathing, as are women in labor. That's because pain increases muscle tension, which in turn increases the sensation of pain.
Controlling your breathing won't get rid of the pain, but it will reduce your perception of it by lessening that tension. It will also promote restful sleep, which also helps relieve pain.
I wish you Enough
Received this from a friend via email.....
Recently I overheard a mother and daughter in their last moments together at the airport. They had announced the departure. Standing near the security gate, they hugged and the mother said, "I love you and I wish you enough".
The daughter replied, "Mom, our life together has been more than enough. Your love is all I ever needed. I wish you enough, too, Mom".
They kissed and the daughter left. The mother walked over to the window where I was seated. Standing there I could see she wanted and needed to cry. I tried not to intrude on her privacy but she welcomed me in by asking, "Did you ever say good-bye to someone knowing it would be forever?".
"Yes, I have," I replied. "Forgive me for asking, but why is this a forever good-bye?".
"I am old and she lives so far away. I have challenges ahead and the reality is - the next trip back will be for my funeral," she said.
"When you were saying good-bye, I heard you say, 'I wish you enough'. May I ask what that means? ".
She began to smile. "That's a wish that has been handed down from other generations. My parents used to say it to everyone". She paused a moment and looked up as if trying to remember it in detail and she smiled! even more. "When we said , 'I wish you enough', we were wanting the other person to have a life filled with just enough good things to sustain them". Then turning toward me, she shared the following as if she were reciting it from memory.
I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright no matter how gray the day may appear.
I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun even more.
I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive and everlasting.
I wish you enough pain so that even the smallest of joys in life may appear bigger.
I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting.
I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess.
I wish you enough hellos to get you through the final good-bye.
She then began to cry and walked away.
They say it takes a minute to find a special person, an hour to appreciate them, a day to love them but then an entire life to forget them.
TAKE TIME TO LIVE.....
To all my friends and loved ones,
I WISH YOU ENOUGH

Ilmu Sains vs Ilmu Islam
Somethine to share. Got this from
a friend.
size=3>
Pertembungan sains dengan
Islam, mana nak dipilih?
Sila baca
artikel saya bertajuk "Agar gigi anak-anak tersusun rapi."
begitu banyak Allah memberikan ilmu melalui pengalaman membesarkannya.
Sekolah Menengah Sains Raub.
begini "Janganlah kamu makan organ dalaman".
Walau pun Nabi berkata
pilih? Sains atau pesan Nabi Muhammad SAW ini?
Kembali kepada pengalaman
membesarkan anak sulung 25 tahun lalu, setelah berbagai makanan rapu termasuk
berbagai jenama minuman bergas diberikan, sewaktu anak saya berusia 2 tahun, ia
darah merah menyebabkan warna darahnya kurang merah. Doktor menasihati kami
keadaan kesihatan anak saya semakin merosot.
Ia semakin sangat mudah
letih.
Allah saja
yang mengetahuinya azab yang kami lalui. Hasil pemeriksaan doktor, mereka
mengatakan anak saya kena anemia Talesemia (umur sel darah merah pendek
berbanding normal 120 hari).
Talesemia.
Subhanallah, penjelasannya sangat mengerikan. Kanak-kanak
penghidap talesemia selalu nya meninggal dunia sebelum usia mencecah 7 tahun.
Pendek kata, sekolah
memang terpaksa selalu tidak hadir kerana demam.
Begitulah masalah yang
kami hadapi membesarkan anak sulung ini sehingga berusia 13 tahun. Kerap demam
Setelah saya
menjelaskan cerita sebenarnya, arwah memberitahu saya agar mencari sebanyak
Sebelumnya, saya memang banyak membantah kata-kata arwah guru, maklumlah saya
lulusan universiti
(biologi & kimia) sedangkan arwah guru sekadar
pengamal perubatan tradisional dan tok guru agama. Arwah guru saya menasihati
agar :
1. Elakkan dari makan sebarang organ
dalaman seperti hati dsbnya.
2. Elakkan
makanan rapu seperti coklat, maggi mee, twisties, ding dang, double decker,
burger, naget, sausage dan sebagainya
3. Elakkan
minuman bergas
4. Elakkan jeruk-jeruk kering dan
basah
5. Makan sayur-sayuran yang berzat seperti
sayuran hijau dan pahit.
6. Makan buah delima
7. Makan epal hijau.
Selepas tiada
Saya berkata demikian kerana
betapa mudharatnya memakan hati.
banyak sekali semenjak berusia 2 hingga 13 tahun.
Subhanallah.
Sekian wassalam

Romantiknyerrr...
Received this email from a friend and sharing it with you....
PETUA
lemak berkumpul. Kita boleh saksikan org mengamal mandi awal pagi
kebanyakan badan tak gemuk.
2. Rasulullah mengamalkan minum segelas air sejuk setiap pagi. Mujarabnya
InsyaAllah jauh dari penyakit. (susah nak kena sakit).
3. Waktu sembahyang subuh disunatkan kita bertafakur (iaitu sujud sekurang
kurangnya seminit selepas membaca doa).

Effects of Cold Water
For those who like to drink cold water, this article is applicable to you. It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion.
Once this "sludge" reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine. Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead
to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.
A serious note about heart attacks - You should know that not every heart attack symptom is going to be the left arm hurting.
Be aware of intense pain in the jaw line.
You may never have the first chest pain during the course of a heart attack. Nausea and intense sweating are also common symptoms. 60% of people who have a heart attack while they are asleep do not wake up. Pain in the jaw can wake you from a sound
sleep. Let's be careful and be aware. The more we know the better chance we could survive.

Guys do want to look perfect infront of Girls too

Travelling with Your Luggage - Be careful
School holiday is a good time to go holiday uh? But please be careful with your luggage.
This video shows how easily your checked-in luggage can be opened without much trouble.
Bear in mind that what can be removed from your luggage can also be the other way round - drugs, firearms, bombs, deadly snakes or tarantulas can be placed inside your luggage too!
This video shows how easy it is to break open your zippered baggage. The worse is you may not even notice about it until you open your baggage after your arrival to your destiny. It is much better for you to keep your valuables with your hand carry.... On the other hand, if you lost our key... you can do the same!

Kindergarten Concert 2007 at ITE College East
HB and I had breakfast, went home to change and off to ITE College East.
He was a Seahorse. A chubby seahorse in The Little Mermaid!
After the concert, I realised that his make-up too had became so 'wayang'. Had a hard time removing the make up from his face. I do not want to go out with my son with make-up on like a girl!!! heeh..

How to choose Fresh Fruits and Vegetables
Look for firm apples that are free of bruises. For red-colored varieties, look for apples that are mostly red. For yellow-colored apples, look for apples that are mostly bright yellow. Red and yellow apples that have several patches of green color are generally not as tasty as bright red and yellow apples.
Handle apples with care to prevent bruising.
Apples are in season from October to about late April.
Asparagus
Look for straight, bright-green stalks with stiff tips. For optimal nutritional value and flavor, steam asparagus instead of boiling it.
Asparagus is in season from March to about June.
Bananas
Look for bananas that do not have bruises or soft spots, especially along the undersides of the bottom-most row. If left at room temperature, bananas that are any shade of green should eventually ripen. Extra-ripe bananas can be peeled and stored in a container in the freezer for smoothies or banana ice cream (made with a champion juicer).
Bananas are imported year-round.
Beets
Choose beets that are firm and attached to red stems and fresh green tops. Loose beets without their tops are typically older than those that are attached to their green tops.
Beets are in season from about mid-June to mid-October.
Blueberries
For fresh blueberries, look for firm berries. You really can't go wrong with frozen wild blueberries, which are available year-round.
Fresh blueberries are in season from about mid-June to mid to late August.
Broccoli
Look for tightly budded heads that are dark green in color.
Broccoli is in season from July to October.
Carrots
Look for firm carrots with relatively smooth skin. Avoid thick carrots, as they often have tough centers.
If you buy fresh bunched carrots with green tops, remove the tops before storing, as they can suck moisture and nutrients away from the roots.
Carrots are available year-round, but are best from July to September.
Cucumbers
Look for firm, unblemished, and dark green cucumbers.
Cucumbers are in season from June to September.
Eggplant
Choose eggplants that are heavy for their size and have smooth skin.
Eggplants are in season from August to September.
Fresh Figs (not dried)
Choose plump figs that seem heavy for their size. Be sure to pick ones that smell nice; old figs tend to smell a tad sour.
Fresh figs are in season from about mid-May to mid-October.
Garlic
Look for plump and firm bulbs that are completely surrounded by their tissue-like covering. Avoid ones that have green sprouts.
Garlic is in season from August to October.
Grapes
Choose grapes that are firm; soft grapes or those that feel like little water balloons tend to be too ripe. If possible, use a tissue to wipe down a single grape for a taste test before choosing each cluster.
Grapes are in season from August to September. Imported grapes are available year-round.
Hass Avocados
Choose avocados that have roughly-textured skin; those that are relatively smooth skinned tend to have less flavor. Avocados are ready to eat when their skins are dark and they give a little to slight pressure.
Hass avocados are in season from February to October.
Honeydew Melons
Look for melons that are free of bruises and areas of broken skin/rind. Leave at room temperature until they give ever so slightly to heavy pressure. Their skins may wrinkle slightly and they may give off a mild melon fragrance when they are ripe.
Honeydew melons are in season from August to October.
Leeks
Look for leeks that have dark green leaves and white bulbs. Leaves that have yellow and brown spots are usually overripe.
Leeks are in season from August to November.
Mushrooms
Look for mushrooms that are free of bruises and other blemishes. Fresh mushrooms are not wrinkled or slimy.
Mushrooms are in season from October to November.
Onions
When looking for dry onions, choose those that are firm and have no soft spots.
When looking for green onions, choose those that have bright green leaves and are not slimy.
Dry onions are in season from September to December.
Green onions are in season from July to September.
Oranges
For eating out of hand, choose California navel oranges that are heavy for their size and without obvious blemishes.
California navel oranges are in season from about mid-November to late spring. They are sweetest from about January to early March.
Peaches
Choose peaches that have smooth skin without bruises, and that give a bit to pressure. Peaches that do not give to pressure can ripen, but often do not get as soft and sweet as those that are already somewhat ripe at the market.
Peaches are in season from July to September.
Pears
Choose pears that have smooth skin and no bruises.
Pears are in season from August to December.
Potatoes
Choose firm potatoes that are free of bruises and cracks.
Potatoes are in season from September to January.
Raspberries
Choose raspberries that are bright red. Look carefully to be sure that there are no signs of mould, the most common one being the presence of white, cotton-like strands in and around the berries.
Raspberries are in season from July to September.
Red Peppers
Choose red peppers that have thick, smooth skin.
Red peppers are in season from about May to September.
Spinach
Choose spinach that is dark green with no signs of yellowing, sliminess, or wilting.
Spinach is in season from June to October.
Strawberries
Choose strawberries that are plump, dark red, and without bruises. Fresh berries carry a distinct strawberry fragrance.
Strawberries are in season in June and early July.
Tomatoes
Choose tomatoes that are bright red, firm, and free of bruises. Like strawberries, fresh tomatoes will carry their own distinct fragrance.
If preparing tomato slices, slice them from top to bottom to prevent unnecessary loss of natural juices.
Field tomatoes are in season from August to September.
Watermelon
Look for a watermelon that has a firm, dark green rind. A slight hollow sound upon tapping with your knuckles is often a sign of a full and juicy melon.
Peak season for watermelons is from mid-May to late August.
Winter Squash
Look for squash that have hard, smooth skin.
Acorn and butternut squash are in season from September to December.
Yams
Choose yams that do not have any cracks or soft spots. Steaming is the best cooking method to preserve the nutritional value of yams.
Yams are in season from October to about March.
Zucchini
Choose zucchini that have firm, dark green skin. Old zucchini are soft and wrinkly.
Zucchini are in season from July to September.
A reply from Hubby

Life has never been smoother
Every challenge and test that came
You made them stress-free all the same
The 4 smiling handsome faces that surround us above
Is a testimony of our family filled with love
You have been the guiding light like the northern star
This the boys will affirm wherever they may be, near or far.

We fit together like a glove, there is no-doubt
"I love You" the Love of My Life, I cannot do without
As we water the plant and sow the seeds of our Love, our Life
I raise both hands to HIM ... a word of Thanks
... for the boys, for YOU ... for US
... for what was, what is and what will be.
Thank you for all the joy that only a true Love can bring.
I surrender sincerely to be in your arms,
Your Husband.

To my dearest Hubby...

I'll never forget,
The first time we met,
I remember it like it was yesterday,
It's stays deep in my heart,
The day you found me.
~*~
We have promised that we would give
To each other all there is to give
For as long as we both shall live.
~*~
I never want wealth or fame,
I only want to have your name,
I only want to wear
That tiny band of gold
And always have you to hold.
~*~
I will keep my promise to you,
I will never be untrue,
Even though sometimes I will be
Away from you.
~*~
I will never break your heart,
I've always loved you from the start,
I must say to you this very special day,
I won't let it take my pride,
I want to be your bride. ---- Already your bride...
~*~
I will never let you feel empty inside,
I will never break the ties that bind,
I will never leave you behind,
I will never let our love die.
~*~
So I make another promise to you, my love,
We will live and we will learn,
And where ever you may go,
My heart will always follow.
~*~
And now it's plain to see,
The the promise's that I have made to thee,
Will show in time, you see,
That you and I will never be lonely,
I love this you and me.
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY MY LOVE!

It's ok Baby!
This morning at 2.00am, Aaron's mumbling woke me up. His body was hot. Quickly gave him his medications. While I was trying to put him to sleep, Ashraf started coughing and that made Aaron open his eyes big big!!! Alamak!!! I rushed to the kitchen to get Ashraf's medications. Both were awake till 3.30am. At 4.30am I woke up for sahur and started baking kuih tart for my sister. That was the best time to bake cause Aaron and Ashraf sleeps longer compare to afternoon naps. I finished baking at 8am.
Message my dearest hubby asking him if he received my sms last night. He said it's ok Baby. I understand. Please rest well and don't get stressed up.
Aaron is much better today. Perhaps will start baking at 2.00pm. A few more cookies and tomorrow starts to bake cakes for my mum. MIL, siblings and SIL, InsyaAllah....
Who's Next?
Amirul is better now. Ashraf's fever is under control except for his cough. And he is back to school today. Tomorrow he will not be going to school as they have an excursion and I do not want Ashraf to go. He might get too tired and will fall sick again. So, better be safe than sorry.
Today, Aaron is down with flu and fever. He wasn't that cranky but simply refused to be with my maid. I didn't do any baking today either. Hopefully after today, no one will fall sick again!!!!
Hubby called after iftar and asked about the kids. I was reading to the 2 babies at the same time, helping the 2 older boys do their assessments when he called. Somehow, I was just too tired that I snapped at him. Even before he ended the call, he said 'I love you' and I just said 'Ok, bye.'
After putting the kids to sleep, I felt so terrible. Smsed him to say how sorry I was for being rude to him. He didnt reply. Booo hooo hooo... think he sleep already... hmm...
DEAR, I AM SO SORRY!!! I YOU TOO!!!!
