17 March 2012 - silent reading

Getting ready for bed. Reading story book to Ashfiq. At the same time telling him to read after me. After a while he got tired and told me to read for him instead.
Me - You see Abg Ashraf can read on his own. Don't you want to read on your own.. read lots of other books on your own. It would be fun.
Ashfiq - (turning to look at Ashraf) Abg is not reading. His lips not moving. He is just looking at the words.
Me - That is called silent reading. Reading to himself by heart. You cannot hear him. Let's read.... (read a few words and expecting him to read after me)
Me  - why are you not reading after me? Read Ashfiq...
Ashfiq - I am reading to myself... Silent reading. Reading inside my heart. Of course you cannot hear me, mama
Me - * Slap forehead... adoiii makkkkkk!!!!

27 Oct 2015 - fart when nervous

Yesterday was his Graduation Day and today he is down with fever. Poor baby. Guess I am also getting it from him. Nose itchy and throat feels rough.
Wanna share something funny.
A day before his Graduation:-
Ashfiq - Daddy, what if I get nervous during the concert and I farted?
Daddy - Why would you fart?
Ashfiq - I will fart when I get nervous (with serious face). I farted a few times during rehearsals. Putttttt.. puuuutttt puttt.. like that! (hehehehe)
Ashraf came and startled him. "BOO!!!"
Phuuuuttttt....
Ashfiq - Abg Ashraf you makes me nervous!!!!! Stop it!
Daddy - :O

Mama to abg - "Kirim salam nenek".
Ashfiq to abg - "tell nenek I Salam her".
Hahaha.. dengan penuh confident.

14 Jan 2010 - Alah pandainya / tak nak masak?

had a good laugh looking at Ashfiq's antic. Saw him peeling the banana skin and commented "Alahhh pandainyer..." Halfway he gave to bibik to peel. Seeing bibik peeling the banana he went " alahhhh pandainyer..." ahahha.


 He is so talkative and smart. Just this evening my maid took our old wok to throw it. He asked kenapa bibik nak buang? Tak nak masak lagi??? Wahaha

12 May 2010 - don't say Lah

Always reminding kids not to use 'lah' when speaking in English. When we hear them saying it e.g. can lah.. ok lah, we told them... No! lah... Now when we mentioned - 'salah', kalah, cinderella, Ashfiq will be the one telling us.. No! lah. Don't say 'lah'. Cannot say 'lah'! Mama and daddy *scratch head*

27 may 2010 - buckle up

Told Ashfiq to buckle his seat belt in a cab. He refused. "I want to drive, Mama. No need seat belt". I said u have to buckle up b4 u can drive, just like Uncle (taxi driver a Malay man). Look! Uncle wearing seat belt(i didnt looked at the driver if he was with seat belt on) Ashfiq did and said "NO! he didn't! Uncle not wearing seat belt".Oh goodness me! True enough! Driver quickly buckled up..apadah!!!

28 may 2010 - mama is a woman

The boys were talking abt boy n girl. Ashraf said we are boys n mama is a girl. Ashfiq protested - no! Mama is a woman! Not a girl!

Ashraf said"wah star wars on tv!" ashfiq said "ohhh star horse on tv!" ashaf corrected him it's star wars, Ashfiq. Little Ashfiq said no! I said star horse! I don't want to say star wars... And this cheeky boy walked away giggling!!!

Me - Yup...  I m telling myself to sit properly. No one will tell me to sit up straight so I have to remind myself.

Me - no.  It's just that all of you are not aware of my sitting posture and might think that this is how I sit.
