She has been with me for 2 months and I have tolerated her attitude so much that I just have to let it go here....Claimed to have 2 years working experience in Malaysia and worked 3 months for someone who is known (i shall not say who) here. The story of the problematic maid...
These are the things that she did and irks me :-
1) When - about 1.5 mths ago.
I saw a round dot nicely drawn on the forehead of my 1 year old boy, Ashfiq. I asked her what happened she said....Oh tadi dia main main marker dan buat tanda di dahinya.. CAN YOU BELIEVE IT??? 
Fine... i didnt have any proof. But my baby will not be so accurate to make a nice dot in the middle of his forehead like a Pottu!
Another incident 2 weeks ago. Had a terrible headache and went back to sleep at 8am on Sunday. Heard a commotion in the boys' room and went out to check. Asked Azirul what happened - she was taking out the kids clothes and the wardrobe door was blocking her face. Ashfiq was facing the door with his back at me. Azirul told me that Ashraf said something about Indian. Suddenly Ashfiq turned to look at me.... there on his forehead.. A sticker! I asked them who had stick it there. The boys said bibik. Mind you all this while she was still looking thru the clothes and was hiding behind the door.
Me - Fitri! Kenapa dahi Ashfiq ada sticker? Siapa yg lekat?
Maid - Saya bu. Tak sengaja. Gurau aja. (still hiding behind the door)
Me - Tutup pintu tu! Saya cakap dengan kamu ni! Kemari! Apa yg tak sengaja? Apa yg gurau? Lucu sangat ya? Kenapa sih dengan kamu? Kamu kayak anak kecil main begini. Umur kamu berapa? Anak saya juga tidak pernah buat begitu. Kok kamu bikin Ashfiq begini memperbodohkan dia depan abg-abgnya? Jadi abang2nya bisa ketawakan dia? Lucu untuk kamu! Tidak lucu sama sekali pada saya!
Maid - Sorry bu. Tidak sengaja.
Me - Kamu mau kerja atau tidak? Kalau tidak mahu beritahu aja! Jgn mcm mcm di sini! Saya ada 4 org anak yg perlukan perhatian, perlu di didik, perlu di jaga, perlu di marah jika salah. Saya tidak perlukan seorang lagi! Saya ambil kamu untuk meringankan kerja saya bukan menyusahkan saya! Kamu org Islam atau bukan??
Maid - Islam bu. (I tell you her face - No expression at all!!!!)
Me - Kalau Islam kenapa bikin perkara sebegitu? Islam ada tanda tanda di dahi ya? Mau saya lekat sticker di dahi kamu??? Mau anak anak tertawakan kamu?? Otak kamu di mana sih? Perkara sebegini di buat main!
Maid - Sorry bu. Saya masih mau kerja dgn ibu. Saya tak mau ke agen. Saya sorry.
Me - Ini kali terakhir! Jangan macam macam dengan anak anak saya! DI rumah ini tidak ada yg dibenarkan mempermainkan sesiapa! Faham!
Maid - Ya bu.. sorry. (ya ya ya.. twit! geram sehhhh)
Hilang semangat aku nak tidur. sakit kepala pun da hilang!!!! Dodol betul!
2) When - About 1 month ago.
What Happened - Told her to look after Ashfiq while I sorted out my orders. Instead of giving him toys, she gave him the toy battery compartment cover with the Screw still intact!!! She left him to go to the toilet and I went to the room in time to grab it from him just as he was about to put it in his mouth! As if my house is short of toys!!!! Waited for her to come out from the toilet, fuming mad!
Me - Kamu lihat ini (showed the item to her). Ini mainan ya?
Maid - Tidak
ME - bahaya tak?
Maid - Bahaya
Me - kalau udah tahu itu bahaya kenapa berikan anak kecil???? Kalau Ashfiq masukkan ke mulutnya tadi, tertelan screw itu.. gimana?? Waktu itu tidak ada guna lagi cakap sorry! Sudah kurang mainan di rumah ini yg kamu harus berikan dia benda sebegini bahaya???
Maid - Sorry bu. (as usual)
3) Went to the toilet, leaving the hot iron on the floor and room's door opened. Told her hundredth times that when she is ironing and need to do something urgent or go to the toilet, do not leave the iron on the ironing board. The kids could accidentally knock it and get hurt. REminded her to close the door if she wants to leave the ironing. She used to do her ironing / folding clothes in a corner where I cannot see her. To me, if the room door is open, she is inside sitting at the corner doing her work. If the door is closed, then she is in the toilet (most of the time) and left her ironing for a while.
This happened about a month ago, I came out from my room with Ashfiq. Passed by the boys' room where she would be doing her ironing and saw some clothes strewn on the floor (thought she was folding the clothes). I walked to the kitchen, thinking that Ashfiq was behind me... and when I saw the toilet's door closed and Ashfiq not with me, I didnt feel right... quickly ran to the room just in time to stop Ashfiq from touching the hot iron which was on the floor. I was shivering with anger and fear... Fear because I cannot imagine what would happened to my son if I didnt rush in.
It took her 15 minutes to come out from the toilet. I really really shouted at her!! I have never shouted at my previous maids before! None of my previous maids, how silly their mistakes were, ever made me so mad like this one! At most I just scolded them with firm tone. This one from firm tone, to harsh to coarse voice (got such definitions??? - no care lah) does not work at all.
There are so many things that she did that I just don't have the patience anymore... mainly it concern my kids safety. Like didnt turn the screw of the fans propeller blade after cleaning. Imagine if the screw dropped and the blades drop while moving!!! Yes there is the fan's cover but if the blades drop inside while moving and cause it to break, the bits and pieces could fly and hit anyone! And I told her not once, not twice but 3 times!!!! Not like she has no experience. She has and its logical.... unscrew and screw it tight!!!! Da lah bodoh sombong, kurang ajar pulak tu.
I had already chose a replacement about 2 weeks ago. But I spoke to her giving her another chance. Told her that I am waiting for the other maid but I want to know if she wants to change her attitude. Be serious with work and be more mindful. She told me she would and she still wants to work for me. Refuse to be sent to the agency and promised to be more responsible. She change.....but
.....what makes me snapped??? It was just for a while....
Last week I was so busy that I told her to fetch Ashraft to and from school for a day. Later that afternoon, I took Ashraf to the shop. In the lift he told that it's dangerous to jump in the lift. I said yes it is. YOu should not be playing in the lift.
"But bibik jumped and jumped in the lift. She jumped so many times! And she also pressed the bell so many times! I told her don't jump but she still jump."
What the hell is wrong with that girl???
2 days ago,took her to NTUC to do some marketing. I didnt check what I paid for....when i reached home, she took out this bag of Chinese watercress and told me that it is nice!!! I was like...huh??!! What is that??!! Did I accidentally put the veg in my basket??!
"Saya beli ke tadi??" I asked her.
"Iya. Ibu beli." she said
"Bila yg saya masukkan dlm bakul?"
"Bukan ibu. Saya yg masukkan." dengan selambanya dia menjawab.
Eh!!! Even my kids ask for my permission if they want to buy anything. Who are you??!! I do not mind at all if you want to eat and ask me to buy. I have no problem buying for you. But tell me first!! Where are your manners???
And the latest.....Yesterday, I came back with Ashfiq after sending Ashraf to school and told her to feed him his lunch. I went to the toilet. I came out only to find him screaming in his cot. I went over to pick him up and to my astonishment I found a decoration which I put on my shoes cabinet (umbrella shaped candle holder with beads and diamond shaped ornaments dangling around it) in his cot!!! She simply gave him anything - dangerous or not, as long as he keeps quiet. I told her that the thing has sharp objects on it and should not simply give it to Ashfiq. She was washing his bottles and didnt even turn around to look at me and acknowledged. Not even a sorry from her.. Not even a hmm.. or mmm... Kurang ajar kan!!!!????
Anyway, I called the agency yesterday and rushed to the office when they told me they have lots of new candidates! Dengan spontan aku pergi! haha.. Reached there and choose a fresh maid. She will be coming in after lebaran. Sementara tu aku urut dada je lah.... Told the staff at the agency about her attitude and they ask me... Dia betul ke tidak? Gila ke? Ya.... good question. I really don't know. You tell me!!!!!!
Hmmm.. tak sabar betul nak raya.... bukan nak sambut hari raya tapi nak tukar maid aku yg macam budak kecik ni!!!!!
